Tom Schuman began his writing career while still in high school in St. Leon, Indiana, covering sports for the county newspaper. The journey continued at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.

Professional newspaper stops included Watseka, Illinois, and Wabash and Anderson, Indiana with continued roles in sports and as a news and managing editor.

What followed was 23 years in the business world with the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. Sports never was out of the mix, however, with the opportunity to showcase special venues, local icons and national personalities.

Sports fandom began with the professional clubs in Cincinnati – the Reds and Bengals. College passions included the alma mater at Ball State and Butler University basketball. But the number and variety of sporting events attended spans far and wide.

Tom and Karen, his partner both in life and their sports travels, now live in Maricopa, Arizona, and still hit the road in the U.S. and beyond in their sports pursuits.

Today, Tom writes for the inMaricopa and Province Life magazines as well as serving as a freelance communicator for several organizations.
